Dr. Yuling Zhang has a study interest in high-density lipoprotein (HDL) metabolism. She received her PhD degree in Sun Yat-sen University in 2009 and visited Department of Pharmacology, Temple University of Medicine in 2015. Dr. Zhang is a professor of the department of CCU and cardiovascular medicine, a director of Guangdong Province Key Laboratory of Arrhythmia and Electrophysiology of the department of Cardiology, an assistant director of department of clinical research, and a director of department of medical device research and development in Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital. The main areas of research in her laboratory include: (1) proteomes and function study of HDL; (2) cholesterol efflux, anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative function of HDL; (3) the correlation between HDL and cardiometabolic disease. The long-term goal of her laboratory is to elucidate the mechanisms and therapeutic implications of HDL nanoparticles in atherosclerotic diseases. She is an associated editor of Frontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine.
