Biography
Dr. Liya Yin earned her M.D., a Ph.D.
degree from Wuhan University. She received her postdoc training at West
Virginia University and the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). Dr.
Yin has been a tenured Associate Professor at
Northeast Ohio Medical University since 2019. Yin lab integrates vascular biology and microcirculation and
studies coronary collateral growth (CCG) and regulation of coronary
microcirculation in metabolic syndromes. Her lab applies lineage tracing,
micro-CT, two-photon and light-sheet scope to understand the mechanism of CCG
and stress contrast echocardiography to measure the coronary blood flow. The
long-term goal of her laboratory is to elucidate the mechanisms and therapeutic
implications of ischemic heart diseases combined with metabolic syndromes. She
is a member of the American Heart Association (AHA) and American Physiology Society (APS). Currently, she serves as the Chair of
the Fellowship Committee of CardioVascular section (CVS) of APS and a Member of
the Steering Committee of CVS.
