Dr. Qiong Zhao graduated from Beijing Medical University in 1993. She received her Ph.D. degree in Cell and Molecular Biology in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at Creighton University School of Medicine (Omaha, Nebraska) in 1998 and completed her postdoctoral research fellowship training at Harvard Medical School (Boston, MA) in 1999. She then completed her pathology internship training at the University of Kansas Medical Center (Kansas City, KS) in 2000 and medical residency training at the University of Massachusetts (Worcester, MA) in 2003.  She had her Cardiology Fellowship training at the University of Illinois at Chicago Medical Center (Chicago, IL) from 2003- 2006, and continued on one-year subspecialty training in Echocardiography in Cardiology Division at Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine (Chicago, IL). She then stayed on as a faculty (Attending Physician) in the Cardiology Division at Northwestern University, and currently the Medical Director of Echocardiography at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, Chicago, IL

Dr. Zhao is currently an Assistant Professor in Medicine at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and Medical Director of Echocardiography at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, Chicago, IL. She has been active in both clinical and basic/translational research. Dr. Zhao’s clinical research interests include Echocardiography, valvular heart disease, woman's heart disease, coronary artery disease, cardiomyopathy, and heart failure.  She has special interest and expertise in 3D echocardiography on cardiac structure and function in structural heart diseases.  Her basic/translational research is in the field of pressure overload-induced cardiac hypertrophy, heart failure and gender-related cardiovascular disease.

Dr. Zhao has received multiple travel grant awards from national medical associations. In 2006 and 2007, she received the Northwestern Young Investigator Award for her research. In 2008, she was awarded the prestigious Jay N. Cohn New Investigator Award from the Heart Failure Society of America. She has been serving on the American Society of Echocardiography Research Committee since 2010 and FASE Advisory Committee in 2014.  She is currently President Elect of the Chinese American Academy of Cardiology.

 

赵琼,医学博士,哲学博士,美国心脏病学院研究员、美国超声心动图学会研究员

赵琼医生1993年毕业于北京医科大学。1998年在内布拉斯加Creighton大学医学院生命科学系获得细胞分子生物学博士学位,同年在波士顿哈佛大学医学院从事博士后研究。2000年在堪萨斯大学医学院完成一年住院医培训,2003年在马萨诸塞大学医学院完成内科住院医师培训、2006年在芝加哥伊利诺伊大学医学院完成心脏专科医师培训。随后在芝加哥西北大学Feinberg医学院(Feinberg School of Medicine of Northwestern University)心脏科从事1年的超声心动图亚专科培训。赵医生随后加入西北大学心脏科, 现兼任Mercy 医学中心超声心动科主任。

赵医生目前是西北大学Feinberg医学院心脏科副教授。她积极活跃于临床和基础/转化医学研究。其临床专长包括超声心动图、瓣膜性心脏病、女性心脏病、冠心病及心肌病和心力衰竭。她尤其擅长利用三维超声心动图评估结构性心脏病的结构和功能。她基础/转化医学研究方向为压力负荷诱导性心肌肥厚、心衰及性别相关性心血管疾病。

她曾获得多项国家医学协会的校外研究奖助金(Travel grant)2006年和2007年分别获得西北大学“青年研究者奖”。2008年获得著名的美国心衰协会“Jay N. Cohn 新研究者奖”。2010至今在美国超声心动图学会科研委员会任职,并于2014年成为美国超声心动图学会研究员(FASE)评审委员会会员。她现任北美中华心脏学会候任主席
