Biography
Dr. Yanqing Anna Gong is a
vascular biologist in cardiovascular physiopathology. She received her PhD
degree in pharmacology at China Pharmaceutic University and obtained her
postdoctoral training at Department of Molecular Cardiology at Lerner Research
Institute, Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Gong has started her laboratory as a Research
Assistant Professor at Division of Translational Medicine and Human Genetics,
Perelman School of Medicine at University of Pennsylvania in 2014. Her research focus on
deciphering the regulator mechanism that modulates vascular function during tissue
repair and regeneration and developing
new therapies on treatment of
ischemic heart disease. The main
areas of Dr. Gong’s research include: 1. Endothelial plasticity in ischemia
microenvironment that leads to abnormal function of vasculature in ischemic
heart disease, e.g. myocardial infarction. 2. The regulatory mechanism
underlying new vessel formation in normal development and disease; 3.The
molecular mechanisms by which proteases regulate stem cell function during tissue
repair and regeneration.
